Nick Clooney

Nick Clooney calls himself a reporter, but that’s just a small piece of his resume. He has been a reporter, anchor, managing editor, and news director in Lexington, Cincinnati, Salt Lake City, Buffalo, and Los Angeles. As a columnist, he contributed three columns a week dealing with subjects as varied as politics, travel, music, and American history. He hosted talk shows in Cincinnati and Columbus as well as radio music programs. For five years, he was a writer and daily on-air spokesman for American Movie Classics cable channel, and he is currently writer, producer, and host for American Life cable channel. As an author, he has published three books, including The Moments That Changed Us. He has accumulated a number of awards and honors, including an Emmy for commentary and three Emmy nominations for his work on AMC. Nick’s son, George, is an Oscar-winning actor, producer, writer, and director in films. In 2006, Nick and George traveled to the Sudan and Chad to report on the genocide crisis in Darfur.
