Steve Kroft is celebrating his 30th year as a CBS News correspondent. As a foreign correspondent, many of his assignments included stories on international terrorism, violence in Northern Ireland, and his Emmy award winning stories on Chernobyl and the assassination of Indira Ghandi. Kroft is a recipient of three Peabody Awards and eleven Emmy awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Emmy for his body of work. His 60 Minutes piece on the Immigration and Naturalization Service was cited as one of the reports for which CBS News won the 2003 Overall Excellence Award from the Radio/Television News Directors Association. A graduate of Syracuse University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Kroft served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a correspondent and photographer for Pacific Stars and Stripes.
